LA-IX // Bella Torregrossa – Scorecard

Stage One // “Commercial Shoot”
Judge #1

Performance: A
She did her poses well considering she was in a brace. It would have been great to see what she could have done without it. I’m not holding it against her though. I still felt that she could have done better with the brace.
Variety: A
She changed up her poses and faces very well.
Creativity: A
The ideas she used for her poses and faces were great.

Performance: B+
The model had an obvious disadvantage, but no one is holding it against her. Her body posture in poses with the brace worked out really well. “Work with what you’ve got.” The shoot fell apart, for me, when she didn’t execute her facial expressions well enough.
Variety: B+
Back to the faces. The model didn’t change up her faces enough. It’s one thing to use a flat facial expression. It’s another to not have more faces available to you to make up for it.
Creativity: A
I’ve been a little critical of the model’s work in this shoot, but I saw some good creativity from her in a FEW expressions and the rest of her poses.

I hope she gets better soon!! Bella really tried to work it with that brace though! But for me, I REALLY wanted to see her hit the poses and faces she could do but she didn’t. At least not enough for me…
Variety: A
Bella didn’t change up her looks enough but her poses had variety!
Creativity: A
I saw creativity all over this shoot! Bella really looked like she was coming up with all kinds of ideas!

Stage Two // “Scream Queens”
Judge #1
Performance: C+

The model’s performance was hit or miss for me.  There were a few times when it looked like she nailed being scared, but most of the time she looked like she was forcing it.  Her fright did not look genuine.
Variety: B-
Here’s where she did a little bit better.  The model made a good attempt at mixing things up, but could have changed her posing and facial expressions more.  Sometimes you can turn the same face and pose into an entirely new look by adjusting your body.  Instead of looking straight into the camera, keep everything the way it is, and turn to your side.  You’ll have an entirely new look.
Creativity: B-
The look that the model was going for fell flat for me.  I wished that she would have had a more interesting idea.

Judge #2
Performance: B-

Bella gave a decent performance, but I didn’t think she looked very scared in most of her photos.
Variety: B
There should have been more variety in her shoot.  Faces, angles, and poses should have been changed up more.
Creativity: B-
I wasn’t the biggest fan of her idea, but I kinda liked it.  It wasn’t overdone and it wasn’t dull.

Judge #3
Performance: B-

I don’t know if she lost her focus in this shoot or didn’t prepare, but her scared looks didn’t look very real.  A lot of this shoot’s concept seems to combine acting and modeling.  That can make it tougher..
Variety: B
I didn’t see a lot of variety, but she didn’t do the same thing over and over and over again, so that’s good! 🙂
Creativity: C+
Wasn’t digging the concept, BUT she looked great in her costume!
